Your journey to Hotel Himmelreich

Our hotel in Val Venosta/Vinschgau can be reached via various Alpine passes.

Our guests from the north reach Val Venosta/Vinschgau over the Passo di Resia/Reschenpass in the direction of Merano/Meran or over the Passo del Brennero/Brennerpass. Via the Brennero/Brenner motorway (exit Bolzano-Sud/Bozen-Süd) you can reach us on the MeBo dual carriageway (to Merano/Meran) and then along the Val Venosta/Vinschgau state road to Castelbello/Kastelbell-Ciardes/Tschars. Our Swiss neighbours reach us even faster through the new Vereina tunnel.
For an environmentally friendly journey: here you will find a charging station for electric cars.

From 2025: construction work on the Lueg bridge on the Brenner motorway

As part of the extensive maintenance of the Lueg bridge on the A13 Brenner motorway, traffic restrictions will be in place from 1 January 2025: Only one lane of the bridge will be open to traffic in each direction.
To help you avoid potential traffic jams, we have a few tips for you:

Rail travel

There will be no restrictions on the Brenner train line during the maintenance work. We recommend the following national and regional rail operators: ÖBB (Austrian rail operator), DB (German rail operator), Trenitalia (Italian rail operator), and SüdtirolMobil (South Tyrolean rail operator).

Traffic info

Traffic is generally quieter on work days than at weekends, on public holidays, and during school holidays. An exact travel calendar showing traffic-heavy days is available on the official website of ASFINAG, the Austrian motorway operator.

Alternative routes

You may also wish to choose an alternative arrival route, such as over the Passo di Resia/Reschenpass or by taking a longer detour via Switzerland.

An additional treat for you from March to November: the fantastic Vinschgau Card. You can use all public transport in South Tyrol – buses, trains, and select cable cars - free of charge.

Arriving by public transport

For bus and train travellers there is currently also a bus connection between Zernez and Malles/Mals; you can reach Castelbello/Kastelbell-Ciardes/Tschars with the Val Venosta/Vinschgau train. On request, we can pick you up at the station in Ciardes/Tschars free of charge. Please let us know in good time, preferably at the time of booking.
